FAQs

Tier-2 visa is an important requirement and the primary immigration route for skilled workers to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is from the employer is required to which will then be linked to the specific job. Tier-2 is divided into numerous categories. However, tier-2 (General) is the most relevant category for nurses and medical professionals.

The sponsoring organisation sends an official document to the foreign employee, which includes personal and job details. This electronic record also entails the duration of the employment period and the offered salary. Each certificate has a certain number, which is used when the recruited worker applies for a visa.

Tier-2 sponsorship licenses a business organisation to recruit foreign workers and professionals. The tier-2 category is what grants the organisation permission to bring in the foreign workforce and skilled workers.

When it comes to applying for a Tier-2 visa, the acquisition of an IELTS certificate with a distinction of 7.0 score in all sections or an OET certificate with an overall minimum grade of B grade is a core requirement. Confirmation of clearance of NMCs Part 1 and a valid certificate of sponsorship (CoS) from the employer is required.

Attainment of decision letter is not a compulsory requirement in applying for a Tier-2 visa. Achieving the required scores in English test, clearance of CBT and CoS are sufficient to apply for the Tier-2 visa.

It takes a minimum of 2 weeks to decide 90% of the Tier-2 application for nurses and midwives. Otherwise, 90% of the applications are decided within three weeks. At maximum, four weeks are required to decide all of the applications.

You are granted a Certificate of Sponsorship, once your case is finalised and application is successful. The duration of the period of engagement is usually mentioned in the CoS. The duration could range from 3 years one month to 5 years one month, depending on the starting date, as stated on the certificate of sponsorship.

Re-application is allowed if and only if, you can prove not being in the UK through proper evidence. However, it is necessary to ensure that the IELTS and OET certificates should be valid at the time of re-application. It is to be noted that you can only reapply after a period of 12 months, starting from the date of departure from the UK.

Once your employment period and sponsorship has ended, the licensed sponsor is no longer liable for your departure from the UK. They are responsible for booking your flight home and sending you back safely. In case of cancellation of sponsorship, certain policies and immigration rules must be followed by UKVI. Starting from the assignment of the curtailment period to helping you legalize your stay in the UK, we provide professional assistance in the retention of your immigration status in the UK.

The power to retain and gain back the necessary documents such as passports resides with the home office. The home office can easily tackle your case in case your application for leave to remain hasnt been approved. The policies and rules, however, forbids any type of unlawful or indefinite retention of documents. You will have your passport once you assure the authorities with your departure from the UK. We offer professional assistance in that regard and the constitution of a successful application.
